Some of us fade into an obsidian fate. An overwhelming coolness that cloaks the flames that burn through our souls and scorch the emotions of those that attempt to approach. Our smile is as sincere as our tears but we hesitate to engage because fantasy shreds our ability to live in reality. We slip into solitude as easily as silk slides over perfumed skin. We whisper breathless desires that melt into the abyss of our pooling fears. And our kiss lingers โ€ฆ on the memory of a love that never was.
